TONY SMOOTH Biography
Tony Smooth began his DJ career in 1999. It all started with a set of Numark turntables and an old 2 channel Gemini mixer. Tony got his first shot at a major gig in 2003 at club 1722 in Baltimore, MD. It was not until late 2004 that he got offered a residency at Montego Bay Lounge. The place was small but it worked, the vibe was there. From 2004 till 2007 Tony did guest spots all over the city of Baltimore in places like Club 2314, Grand Central, Club 1722, while also traveling to places like Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC. In the Summer of 2007 Tony Smooth started a new residency at Club/Lounge RED SQ which lasted for over a year. Some of the most memorable parties took place at that particular venue. In 2008 Tony joined Red Door promotions which at that time was one of the only Electronic Music Promotion companies in Baltimore. At the end of that year Tony and another Red Door resident partnered up and created a DJ duo called the S&M foundation and invited one of the best percussion masters in the Baltimore/DC area to join their team in the process creating a music group called TribeTronix. In the beginning of 2009 Tony took the TribeTronix name and created a Indie/Underground label called TribeTronix Records. It made sense for Tony to start his own record label since he himself began to dabble in production, remixing, and editing back in 2005. Being in the EDM scene for over a decade helped Tony meet other producers and DJ’s that have since contributed to the TribeTronix label. Tony has also partnered up with Fashion store, Couture Moda, to release exclusive mixed CD’s at all of their store locations and provide his music for their Fashion shows. Tony Smooth will continue to rock the dance floors the world over and his name will be Synonymous with Progressive Deep Tribal Tech House for years to come. | read more
