Award winning nightclub, Verboten, not only provides it's patrons with the best international DJ bookings, high quality production and sound, founders Jen Schiffer and John Perez have now established an easy way for the underground dance community in New York to give back to local children in need just in time for the holidays.
The Big Brooklyn Holiday Toy Drive is in it's third edition and this year the organisation has teamed up with Verboten to host a special event tomorrow night, December 11th. Co-sponsored by the club in conjunction with the Greenpoint Chamber of Commerce, and the East River Ferry among others, the party will offer a two hour open bar, sponsored by Belvedere Vodka, appetizers, and plenty of raffle prizes. Of course great music will also be supplied courtesy of Verboten residents NIKI MCNALLY and Dylan Schwartz. This is a party where the real gift is in giving to others less fortunate, and you get to have a good time while helping. Here is a recent mix from Niki to get you feeling festive :)
Admission is free with a new, unwrapped toy, stuffed animal, or game valued at $20 or more for children 14 years and younger. Alternatively there is a cover charge of $25. All proceeds from the door and the raffle will be donated to buy more toys for the drive. If you can't make it tomorrow night, then Verboten are offering reduced admission to any event (see below) up to December 15th if you bring along a contribution to the toy drive.
