Time Warp NYC Brings Unforgettable Experience

01 December 2019 - - The DJ List

Last weekend Time Warp descended upon NYC for the first time in 5 years, bringing back the next level production and line ups that is associated with the world renowned brand for their 25th anniversary. Transforming 2 stark warehouses in the Bronx into techno fantasy lands, attendees were treated to two days of unique offerings and two separate stages, from 10 PM until 7 AM.
From the moment you entered the venue, you could tell that there was an unmistakable attention to detail that was put into the production of the event. It was clear that Time Warp and Teksupport truly went above and beyond to transform the space into something special. Towering over Floor 1, orbs of various sizes filled the room, reflecting the enormous lighting rig made up of pointers and strobes akin to clouds reflecting lightning.Over at Floor 2, a cage of LED’s wrapped itself over the ceiling, with each node asynchronous pulsating to the beat.

On Night 1, PAN POT set the tone for Floor 1. The duo’s unmistakeable energy filled every inch of the room over the course of their 2 hour set. Following them, RICHIE HAWTIN kept the energy going with his quintessential style of techno. Amelie Lens each brought their respectively unique sounds to Floor 1, each one upping the energy over the last, culminating with Lens’ performance. All the while at Floor 2, RICARDO VILLALOBOS’s 3 hour set filled the room to the brim with attendees, at times leaving no room for others to come see the master at work. Following his set, Joseph Capriatti played one of the most talked about sets of the weekend, effortlessly interweaving both house and techno tracks alike until the sun came up.

Not to be one-upped by the first Night, Night 2 brought about an equally eclectic and talked about line up. Those who made it back early for the second Night were treated to a set from Denis Sulta, who was followed by Time Warp veteran SVEN VATH. MACEO PLEX’s unique style of techno switched up the tone afterwards to everyone’s delight, with the stage being capped off by Loco Dice. Floor 2 brought a rare and highly sought out NY appearance from PEGGY GOU, with NINA KRAVIZ capping things off for the weekend.

The weekend’s festivities showed that NYC’s appetite for large scale Techno massives is not faltering any time soon. While the event has come and gone, attendees can expect a repeat next year, with Teksupport already making it known that Time Warp will be back.
