With HARD Day of the Dead just a week away, excitement among attendees is reaching an all-time high. We are impatiently awaiting headline performances from artists such as DOG BLOOD, the electro-house side project comprising EDM legends Skrillex and Boys Noize, as well as the still-mysterious ZHU, who will be performing a deep house/techno BLACKLIZT set. Not to be missed, JUSTIN MARTIN’s upbeat Dirtybird tunes will certainly attract a flock of house enthusiasts (including us!) and we’re sure that THE MARTINEZ BROTHERS will keep the energy up until the very last beat.
While we will all see some of our very favorite artists at HARD Day of the Dead, it’s those new acts you’ve never seen live before that can make a festival unforgettable. That’s why this year there is definitely some stellar up-and-coming billed talent on our radar that you for sure won’t want to miss; we certainly won’t!
One of our not-to-miss recommendations this year is LA-based DJ LAUREN LANE on the Duro Stage. Since 2015, she’s graced stages at festivals such as Coachella, The BPM Festival, and TomorrowWorld with her upbeat tech-house vibes. A woman of many talents, in addition to releasing multiple original EPs and a deep remix of TLC’s ‘Creep’ Lane also launched a brand of eyewear dubbed “Lane Eyewear” which has proven to be wildly popular and quickly sold out of its limited edition run. Named DJ Mag’s Breakthrough DJ of North America 2017, she’s sure to bring the heat to HARD Day of the Dead this year.

We’ve also put ‘Softest Hard’ on our must-see list this year over on the HARD stage (how appropriate!). This Vietnamese, Northern Vermont born and now LA-based DJ is gracing some killer lineups this year, including Decadence NYE and Get Freaky. You can catch her on Episode 17 of the Beats 1 OWSLA Radio show with Skrillex, who is known to recognize up and coming talent. Not content to slay with just her music, she’s also got a phenomenal history modeling, which you can check out in her tweets (@softest_hard). If you need some motivation, her newest single “XOXO” is a powerhouse hard dance track to get you moving.
We’re counting down the minutes until we return to LA State Historical Park and attendees should get ready for a wild Hallo-weekend with the 21+ crowd! Get your tickets here while you still can– GA and VIP are still available.
