It’s hard to believe that UK based Toolroom Records has been around for ten years already, but with a host of successful artists, albums and releases – it’s easy to assume they’ll be around for at least twenty more. They’re home to artists like Funkagenda, CHRIS LAKE, DEADMAU5, PETE TONG and UMEK just to name a few and boasts releases that range from Progressive House to Tech House, all with an extra side of funk.
Back in 2009, UNDERWORLD and MARK KNIGHT and esteemed colleague D Ramirez got together for the still epic, progressive house tune ‘Downpipe’. And now, with the ten year anniversary of Toolroom Records around the corner, Mark Knight and Underworld have reached out to SANDER VAN DOORN to collaborate on the upcoming, and aptly titled track, ‘Ten’. By fusing haunting spoken word vocals a la Mark Knight, a driving four to the floor melody provided by Underworld and a trance like build up, Ten is not only reminiscent of the old days of underground house – but highlights each producers unique style as well.
The track itself is set to release on April 3rd on Beatport.
