Since 1993, Insomniac Events has been the undisputed leader in innovation and creativity in the Music Festival and Club Circuit - both in their home state of California, as well as across the United States. They're the masterminds behind epic events like Nocturnal Wonderland, Electric Forest and most notably - the Electric Daisy Carnival. The festival not only stretches across the greater United States from Las Vegas to Colorado, Chicago, Miami and New York - but it's now international, in Mexico, Puerto Rico and London. Originally, the festival had both deep roots and a deep fan base in Los Angeles, not to mention some deep seeded issues with the city.
In 2012, charges were brought against Insomniac Events and company CEO Pasquale Rotella during the 'LA Coliseum Corruption Scandal' . Over the course of the next year, all charges stemming from the case were dismissed Superior Court Judge concluded that the Commission failed to plead a viable case. In turn, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission has been ordered to reimburse Insomniac Events for their attorney's fees from the failed lawsuit - approximately $400K. Insomniac Attorney, Gary Jay Kaufman, has issues the following statement in response:
The Insomnaic Team is still on the hunt for a new location for the next Massive in Southern California, so having an extra $400K to toss around couldn't hurt in the venue hunt. Until then, there's Audio in the Bay to look forward to this Memorial Day Weekend in the San Francisco area with Laidback Luke + Eric Prydz, and as always - EDC Las Vegas coming in June!
