Zach Britt, also known as Hundreds Thousands, released double-hitter “Speakeasy” and “Sick For Your Love” on August 16. This is the fourth release for Brooklyn-based producer whose name draws inspiration from classic novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse and whose music, though electronic, is influenced by folk and bluegrass popular in his home state of North Carolina.
The two singles detail two facets of love; fear of its uncertainty and finally succumbing to it. “Speakeasy” depicts an attempted escape for an anxiety-ridden heart with sultry guitar and intoxicating vocals. “Sick For Your Love” opens with a haunting piano melody and evolves to incorporate bass synths as direct, lovesick lyrics tell of the overwhelming nature those emotions can sometimes bring.
