Giuseppe Ottaviani's Magenta Gets the Extended Mix Treatment

20 August 2013 - - - The DJ List

As both as a genre and a culture, over the past year the face of Trance has been changing. Producers and DJs alike have deviated from their traditional formula and instead, have been forging their ways into other genres. In fact, trance has fused with Progressive House, Electro House and Dubstep almost eloquently so thank goodness there are still producers like GIUSEPPE OTTAVIANI left in the mix to pair deep melodic bursts of emotion with driving basslines.

When it comes to keeping his audience, one of the key factors for Giuseppe Ottaviani is his background as a classically trained instrumentalist. Having been trained on the piano since the age of 4, his innate knowledge of the complexities in music comes out tenfold in his latest album, Magenta; the album was released on Beatport this past May. In addition to the release of his artist album, Giuseppe Ottaviani has also released extended mixes of two amazing tracks of the album - Water Park, which was released in early August on Beatport and Cold Flame, which was just released on 8/12.

Waterpark is only one of two tracks that Giuseppe Ottaviani created without any help and has already gotten airplay on ARMIN VAN BUUREN's A STATE OF TRANCE. The extended mix starts with a cacophony of harmony paired with a driving progressive bassline. The track takes a few deep and dark twists on its journey, and the melody almost takes off like a runaway train. The end result is a beautiful journey into an industrial trance track. On the flip side, the extended version of Cold Flame blows the radio edit out of the water. It takes a lot of skill to be on par with a track like Brainbox from FERRY CORSTEN and this extended mix does just that. The track starts out as a heartbeat and pulsates louder and louder, until it becomes a progressive, industrial bounce. When paired with an aggressive and melodic bass line, the track almost explodes - it's equally perfect for the club and a late night drive; there's simply no way you can sit still and listen to it. Head on over to Beatport to get your copies of Water Park and Cold Flame today!
