Tom Swoon, the popular Polish DJ and producer, is moving from strength to strength. Having just released another track on Ultra - "Alive" made with Sonny Noto and Ale Q, we grabbed Swoon to hear more about it.
How did you originally link up with Ale Q & Sonny Noto for “Alive”?
I met Ale when I played at Empire Music Festival in Guatemala over a year ago! Although, the idea of doing “Alive” together with Sonny was very recent, and it worked out great!
Did the track take long to write? What was the inspiration behind it?
Even though we worked on the project online by sending the stems back and forth, the whole process was so smooth it felt like we were sitting in one room! I think each one of us is driven by different sets of things when it comes to making music. For me, it’s the energy and love, which I’ve always been bringing along to studio when coming back from tour.
You're all from different parts of the world. Do you think those multi-national flavours influenced the sound?
I strongly believe that our environment always has at least a small influence on us and whatever we create. Indeed, there is a huge contrast between the countries we are from, and I feel it really complimented the track.
What is the dance scene like in Poland?
In my opinion, the dance scene in Poland is becoming bigger and better! I really feel like a part of family, which is constantly growing and supporting each other a lot.
How did you find yourself releasing on Ultra Music? Are you enjoying working with them?
Working with such big and legendary label like Ultra was an honor from Day One! I’m really excited for what’s coming up for us as a team!
What have you got lined up for the rest of the year?
Firstly, we will celebrate the 100th episode of my radio show “Lift Off Radio” with a party in Pacha Poznań (PL) and a live stream on November 6th! Speaking of upcoming releases: a collaboration with Nari & Milani, followed by a track with Fedde Le Grand!
