This past Friday and Saturday, April 12th and 13th, EXCISION welcomed headbangers to the final two dates of the Apex Tour at the Bill Graham Civic Center in San Francisco. Excision’s yearly visit to the Bay Area draws crows from far and wide, boasting 225,000 crushing watts of PK Sound accompanied by stunning visuals and a light show.
The Friday iteration of the tour featured BLACK TIGER SEX MACHINE, DOWNLINK, SUBTRONICS b2b SQUNTO, SULLIVAN KING b2b WOOLI, and SUBDOCTA. As night fell, fans clad in bright colors and sporting handmade kandi flocked to the venue. Excision is one of those rare artists who knows how to book an earth-shattering show from beginning to end, and those who are familiar with his shows know to arrive early and stay late.
The sold-out Friday night of the Apex Tour packed the Bill Graham from top to bottom, with not a soul left standing still. There was hair flying, jumping, and high energy everywhere. Despite the gravelly-raw roughness of Excision’s signature dubstep sounds, there is no anger to be found among the attendees - each drop brings a smile or an intense “bass face” to the crowd. Aside from the mosh pits, there’s no pushing, no shoving, but a mass of music enthusiasts united by sound to enjoy the ride.
Although Excision’s Apex tour has come to an end, there’s no end in sight for his success - he’ll be in Canada at Stacked 420 festival, followed by EDC Japan and EDC Las Vegas in the coming months. Rest assured that whether it’s your first or fiftieth time seeing Excision perform, it’s worth it every time.
