Electric Zoo To Take The Concrete Jungle By Storm This Labor Day Weekend

24 August 2017 - - The DJ List

Animals, your time to shine is right around the corner. Since 2009, we have let our inner animals loose on the infamous fields of Randall's Island every Labor Day Weekend- bass thumping, hearts bumping and bodies movin' and groovin' to the finest acts electronic music has to offer. Naturally, we're talking about Electric Zoo; but this time around, there's a new borough in town- and it's the "6th Boro".

It takes place in the concrete jungle that is New York City for a reason- as there is truly no better setting for this 3-day long extravaganza to take place in. There will lie 5 animal-themed stages, all properly curated to satisfy any festival-goers musical cravings- along with the best eats, treats and peeps the city has to offer.

The reason Electric Zoo has been able to set themselves apart from other festivals all these years was because of their consistent ability to cover the entire electronic-music spectrum in their lineups. Bass lovers can find themselves getting sucked into the Hilltop Arena courtesy of artists like EXCISION and SLANDER, while bass-house lovers can get jiggy at JAUZ's very own "Off The Deep End" stage. And for those who are looking to get fed by those dark, raw untz-untz's can get lost to the sounds of techno authorities like DIXON, SASHA & JOHN DIGWEED and VICTOR CALDERONE in the world-renowned Awakenings tent. But as someone who has attended Ezoo more times than I could possibly even count, it's become evident that this year's "6th Boro" edition will be one for the books.

The stage curators for the festivities are always proper, but the one that has proved itself to be superior to all the others was Elrow, hailing from Barcelona. Giant pool floaties for the entire crowd, people on stilts, a treasure chest filled with masks, maracas and more is just a taste of the magic that is Elrow- and they're coming back for their second consecutive year following their preview successful Ezoo debut. But this time, Bollywood style- with the finest selectors across the house and techno board such as THE BLACK MADONNA and DE LA SWING.

Because one simply cannot stop going on and on about this insane lineup, let's not forget to mention the super casual fact that two absolute LEGENDS will be going back-to-back on Sunday night to close out the festivities with a proper bang- and who could possibly do the honors of closing out that Ezoo main stage better than DEADMAU5 and ERIC PRYDZ?

You already know where you have to be Labor Day Weekend, ya filthy animals- but question is, will we see you there?
