Funking the House Up
DJ Dan is no stranger to the scene. Having been entrenched in music throughout most of his life, the Washington State-based DJ has carried his West Coast roots from his humble beginnings playing in clubs throughout Seattle and LA, up to this day. Having settled down in San Francisco, he helped to form the Funky Tekno Tribe in the early 1990s, which grew to critical acclaim for its events and was instrumental in putting the San Francisco house music scene on the map. His works as a producer created what is now known as the “West Coast House” sound, meshing breakbeats, house, dub, and techno. DJ Dan’s talents hardly went unnoticed, as he has won numerous awards by DJ Mag and DJ Time, as well as played alongside legends CARL COX and JOHN DIGWEED.
