Mid-July 2019, thousands of ravers travelled from all over the country to attend the next iteration of Insomniac’s Audiotisic Festival Bay Area. The weather was perfect- high 80’s during the day, a cool breeze, and in the 60’s at night- making adventures deep in the crowd or in the outskirts of the festival grounds enjoyable. Throughout both of the festival’s weekend days, the South Bay was flooded with people decked out in platform shoes, kandi bracelets, bright colors, and smiles.
Audiotistic boasted two booming stages, aptly named Frequency 1.1 and 2.2 showcasing a wide variety of artists and genres on both. TIESTO closed out the 1.1 stage on day one with his classic bouncy big room, and ILLENIUM ended the same stage on day two in a heartfelt and uplifting feels T.I.. Frequency 2.2 was bass-heavy and raucous on Saturday with ZEDS DEAD and an old-school dubstep infused set from RUSKO, then Sunday brought the Dirtybird flock to groove to a stacked house lineup led by “Papa Bird” CLAUDE VONSTROKE. Though emotions were high during the heat of the afternoon, the excitement turned up to 11 as the sun went down, and each illuminated decoration of the festival grounds began to glow. Lasers ducked through the crowd of people and danced on the trees, and string lights glittered in the wind. After sunset, totems began to light up through the sea of people. This is when Audiotistic comes to life.
It was clear that no one was ready to let Audiotistic go once it was over. Fireworks shot through the air and kept spirits high even though the last acts had left the stage. Insomniac’s dedicated Ground Control kindly assisted attendees with directions to the exits with a smile. Groups of friends hugged and said their goodbyes as they made their game plan for their next event. It’s always an unforgettable experience with Insomniac, and we can’t wait for another!
