Don’t let WILL ATKINSON’s age fool you; at the mere age of 22, this Scottish Producer and DJ has already been in heavy rotation on BBC’s Radio 1 Charts with over 80 plays in the last five years. He first stepped up to the challenge of DJing at only eight years old and when he was 11 he began producing, integrating the scenery and everyday life of his hometown Orkney within his melodies. Fast forward to present day, and the young dance phenom has releases on Perfecto, Discover Records, Night Vision and Borderline Music; and to boot, he’s garnered support from an All-Star cast of DJs and Producers like FERRY CORSTEN, SIMON PATTERSON, ARMIN VAN BUUREN and JUDGE JULES –who also happens to be one of Will’s biggest supporters.
His latest single, appropriately titled “Watch Out”, fuses a Hard Trance or Tech Trance bassline with a light and playfully progressive melody. The result is a song with dueling forces that showcases the range of talent within Atkinson’s repertoire. “Watch Out” is already in heavy rotation on ALY & FILA’s weekly show, Future Sounds of Egypt, and has quickly attracted the support of Simon Patterson, MARK SHERRY, INDECENT NOISE and the big boss of Subculture himself, John O’Callaghan. Atkinson is definitely a DJ to keep your eye on this year and with its booming Tech-Trance sound, this single is surely one to be reckoned with. “Watch Out” was released on 2/4/13 on Subculture (Black Hole Records) and is available for purchase on Beatport.
