To be able to bring you an Easter Peach 2019, we had to find a new home KOKO was closing for a major refurb. Initially we thought let us just stop at the 25th Birthday, and go out on the biggest high ever, but after that milestone of an event, and then reading all the comments-’No, it CANNOT be the last one’, we realised that even if it was not at Koko, our dear dear clubbers did not want it to end. We listened to all the suggestions for a different venue and checked many of them out.
When we walked into The Steel Yard and met with the manager, Barry (you are gonna love him!) we instantly knew this is where we wanted to bring Peach-but we knew we had to double check with the Peach Faithful- after all, without their support, there is no Peach. The Steel Yard was up there in the Top 3 in the poll we posted, and since announcing it as our venue for 2019, well, everyone went nuts and loved it. Many have asked ‘What about the LASERS’ , well there are already 4 in The Steel Yard, so don’t stress! We KNOW how important the lasers are!
It’s time to announce our line-up for Peach 2019. As the capacity of the Steel Yard is smaller than Koko, we know we will fill up early, and so both rooms with being running for the duration of the night 9pm-6am. So of course, we listened as we always do to what you wanted in the main room, Residents only and longer sets!! And that’s what we are going with plus adding one of our previous competition winners! All our comp winners have been awesome and we wold have loved to have had them all, but if course, that’s an impossibility! Robin Fisher (Fisha) won the day, because that’s where the dart landed (luckily it was just on his name and not his actual person!) So he will open the room for us.
As you probably know, when we launched Peach back in 1993, we were playing cutting edge house, as trance, as we know it now, had not come along then. And so, with this much bigger 2nd room, we so wanted to also be able to bring part of our reunions up to the present day. As if Peach had never gone away. Graham’s ‘present day’ sound is progressive house, melodic techno and tech house, and we feel the 2nd room is just perfect for that alongside some funky beats to get the room underway. Our special guests include Stretch (of Stretch & Vern fame), Nick Coles (aka Nik the Kid-DMC), Jon East (Koolworld), Rob Gritton (Moon Island records, Dave T, another competition winner-Mark Kincaid will open the room on a funky tip with some house classics just to get you in the mood! And of course, Graham Gold who is uber keen to enthral you with his current style!
