ECHOES OF … For 3 years now, the french funk band “ECHOES OF” has been leading a very successful and phenomenal monthly residency called “Funk & The City”, in the most famous jazz club in Paris, the NEW MORNING (where the best international jazz, funk, soul artists have performed).

The young cats of ECHOES OF are paying tribute to the american cities of funk (songs between 1975 and 1985) in a very unique, original and ambitious way, covering and reviving songs not often performed live. So far exist ECHOES OF DETROIT (One Way, Bohannon, Carl Carlton), MINNEAPOLIS (Prince, The Time, André Cymone) DAYTON (Aurra, Sun, Lakeside), WASHINGTON (Trouble Funk, Soul Searchers, Chuck Brown), MIAMI (Uncle Louie, Gwen McCrae, T-Connection), PHILADELPHIA (Instant Funk, Breakwater, Bunny Sigler), SAN FRANCISCO (Con Funk Shun, Maze, Larry Graham), CHICAGO (Chaka Khan, Earth Wind and Fire, Omni)

The 6 (extendable to 12) pieces band always keep the same backing nucleus of musicians, inviting several and various singers who become ambassadors of the city they are assigned to. More cities to come such as Memphis, New Orleans, New York, Los Angeles and also non american cities such as London, Tokyo, Rio, … !

If you’ve seen ECHOES OF … Live at The SLST before, then you know that this band truly mean business and won’t stop til you get enough, so marker pen this date in the diary and get ready for a mind melding 90 minute Live set where ECHOES OF DETROIT gonna blow the roof off the sucka.

Then on LEVEL 2 – Funkin Heaven! Step back and prepare yourselves again as Premier Rare Groove, Soul N’ Funk Heads – DJs SNOWBOY and 45 maestro DEAN RUDLAND drop more of the platters that absolutely, positively still matter and wait for the sweat to fall. Funks gonna seriously hit the fan good people. Soul-brellas highly recommended!

This duo are hot folks and truly ready to bring the party. So (and as we like to say) Prepare Yourselves!
