Yanik Coen was born & grew up in the beautiful multicultural city of Montreal. After moving to Paris, Yanik became intrigued by the house music scene. He was inspired by legends David Morales, Erick Morillo, Carl Cox, Bob Sinclar, Felix Da Housecat, Danny Tenaglia & Louie Vega. As his passion grew he became highly influenced by the New York, Chicago & French House/Disco sounds.

Yanik was immersed into the DJ circuit in 2005 through his cousin and well-respected French DJ RLP. In the beginning DJing was just a hobby as becoming a pro Tennis player was his main focus. He would go out for the music and party like most kids but he always craved more from the scene.

He quickly established himself as a well-known and respected DJ in his hometown’s nightlife scene. Spinning in all the best venues and events the city had to offer caused a buzz around this young emerging talent. He then went on to travel very early on sharing the decks with most giants in the industry.

When Yanik decided to completely dedicate his life to House Music, he started producing his own. His first break came when he was given the opportunity to participate in the rebirth of Jose Nunez’s classic jam ‘Bilingual’ with 2 explosive mixes on the prestigious Subliminal Records. One of his all-time favorite House Music tunes & labels.

By the end 2012, 3 of Yanik’s original productions landed on 3 different compilations mixed by legends: Erick Morillo (Subliminal Sessions), StoneBridge (fifteen) & Paul Oakenfold (Planet Perfecto). The support kept growing with names such as Bob Sinclar, David Guetta, Nicky Romero, Thomas Gold etc..

In a world where technology has changed the meaning of being a DJ, Yanik keeps it real. He plays the music he loves and finds a way to portray his passion in each one of his sets. Old school techniques combined with the next generation mentality is what sets Yanik apart from the rest. Differentiation and versatility is what has contributed to his success and will continue to fuel his career in years to come.

So far, Yanik has played in some of the best clubs in the world, in countries like France, England, Spain, Croatia, Italy, Morocco, Canada, the Caribbean, Panama & more…
