Woolfy ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF

‘CITY LIGHTS’ EP VIA FUTURE CLASSIC

LIMITED 10” VINYL RELEASEMARCH 17th

DIGITAL RELEASEMARCH 31st

“’Woolfy’ is one of our time’s most underrated disco wizards.” – The Fader

“Playful and funky in all the right ways” – La.ga.sta

“Flies in the face of almost every prevailing trend in current dance music.” -XLR8R

LA producer Woolfy (DFA / Permanent Vacation) brings his genre defying production talents to the Future Classic stable for the release of new EP “City Lights”, teasing us with a limited 10” vinyl slab in advance of the full digital EP package which drops at the end of March.

Simon James, AKA Woolfy, first made his mark under the Woolfy vs Projections alias, receiving rave reviews for the signature low slung balearic meets cosmic grooves LP “The Astral Projections of Starlight” fed to disco freaks worldwide by tastemaking German powerhouse label Permanent Vacation. The LP was on high rotation amongst peers such as Jazzanova, Rub & Tug, James Murphy, Aeroplane & Todd Terje, with Fader marking Woolfy as one of our time’s most underrated disco wizards.

As a solo artist, Woolfy is perhaps best known for his playful genre-spanning follow up album ‘If You Know What’s Good For Ya’, released in 2009 through legendary NYC imprint DFA/Rong – hopping through genres freely with elements of new wave, guitar laden nu-disco, dubbed out house and some tasteful vocal pop.

After a softer, yet no less lauded sophomore LP as Woolfy Vs Projections, Woolfy is now back with more signature solo sounds on the lively ‘City Lights’ EP. Title track ‘City Lights’ features infectious beats you’ll want to listen to on repeat, and is further proof that Woolfy has come good on the promise seen by the likes of Pitchfork and The Fader who fully embraced earlier releases. The EP leans to Australia’s burgeoning electronic scene to complete the package, with Melbourne’s house music visionary Francis Inferno Orchestra delivering another crucial jam, complemented beautifully by a tasty refix from LA’s Split Secs.
