Like a cross between Justice, The Who and Donna Summer, Trafik have been forging a style in the electronic music underground that is all their own, they blaze an improbable trail through the sonic space somewhere between ethereal cinematic scores and storming DJ weapons.
One of the Premier artists on the seminal Global Underground label, Trafik have released over 150 tracks on Beatport, remixed the likes of UNKLE, Dave Seaman and Tilt, mixed 25 top selling compilations collectively amassing well over 1 million sales in total and their tracks have appeared on big US TV shows like CSI:New York and CSI:Miami
Trafik’s “Live Soundsystem” show has toured the world with sell out gigs in New York, London, Dublin, Paris, Bratislava, Johannesburg, Beirut, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao, Tokyo and even on the Great Wall of China.
Trafik, signed to the world’s foremost independent dance music label Global Underground, have just been putting the finishing touches to their second studio album, due out late summer 2009.
The first album “Bullet” has achieved cult status and was a blend of club and chilled music that was likened to Orbital and Hybrid. The new album showcases an uptempo style which Trafik are about to take on the road, a mixture of decks, efx, synths and controllers the show is going to be a special one.
Trafik have also mixed some of the most seminal compilations in dance music history, 14 albums so far including GU10 “Possible the best album GU has ever released” – i-DJ, Afterhours 2 which Pete Tong made his “Essential CD of the week”. Jive Magazine labelled the now renowned ‘Electric Calm’ series, as “….the best chill out CD ever….” The latest Electric Calm V.3 was a huge hit on iTunes It was 1 in Canada, 2 in the UK and 3 in the US download charts.
Dave Seaman, UNKLE and Tilt have all had monster remixes by them and they have just been asked by legends Hybrid and Billie Ray Martin to work on their new singles. With music appearing on TV shows CSI and on Playstation games, their sound has become very sought after.
