With close to 10 years of DJing experience under his belt, Tony Cologne is an accomplished and seasoned disc spinner.
Combining a passion for 80s new wave and synthpop with more contemporary house and dance flavors, Mr. Cologne has also utilized his musical expertise writing for such magazines as Q (UK), Juice (Australia), Mixmag (USA) and XLR8R (USA).
A night featuring Mr. Cologne on the wheels of steel can go anywhere, but the main goal of the man behind the music is to get people on the dancefloor. His sets can begin downbeat and dubby, before steadily working their way up through classic new wave, cultish electro and on into 80s retro and hi-nrg classics.
As the night progresses, Tony Cologne has been known to delve deeper into dirtier, dancier territory, shamelessly dropping timeless techno and essential house anthems.
2004 saw Tony Cologne play Brooklyn hotspots like Red and Black, Laila Lounge, Check Cashing and Club Ice. He also hosted two Retrospective parties at Times Square Cafe and Bar 169 in Manhattan. In early 2005, Tony Cologne was special guest at New York City’s hottest 80s night, Situation at Luke and Leroys.
In 2006, Tony hosted Blue Mondays at Savalas in Williamsburg, arguably that year’s finest recurring new wave night in Brooklyn. 2007 saw regular guest appearances at Lucky Cheng’s All-80s dance party in the East Village.
Currently, Tony Cologne is in retirement.
