If there is one DJ/producer that you are destined to hear more about it’s TOMAS HEDBERG.
Swedish bred Hedberg ventured to the party capital of the world- Ibiza – in 2001 and has since become of the most prominent DJs on the island.
As one of the most respected and well known Ibiza DJs, he’s done the rounds at all the super clubs with residencies at Manumission, Eden, El Divino, and guest appearances at the islands highly respected ‘Underground’, and famous club Space. But amongst the locals, he’s known for driving the islands underground scene.
He has held Winter residencies at all of the islands most happening parties including the absolutely rocking Fiasco party in Pacha back in the day.
Having played to over 80,000 people in 2 Zurich street parades, Tomas took on a bi monthly residency at the cities hottest venue- Club Q and soon after rocked dancefloors in London, Germany, Turkey, Spain, Italy, USA, Belgium and Australia.
Following this, in 2008, came his deserved residency with Pete Tong @ his sought after Wonderland party in Ibiza. After a massive first year, and proudly placing his name to one of the most played songs of last Summer The Looking Glass, Tomas was invited back for round 2.
With a sound that is catagorised as a tasteful selection of deep, funk and tech, and a mixing style that has been described as adventurous and creative emulating a warm darkness, Hedberg never fails to please a crowd.
He’s got his head down in productions, and has already showcased his talent across some of the dance worlds most respected labels including Rebirth Records, Pacha Recordings, Seamless Recordings and Pieces of Eight Records.
Out in time for the Ibiza Summer 09 will be a bomb he collaborated with his Wonderlands ‘The Looking Glass’ partner Jo Mills coming out on Phonetic Records… And 2 tracks that have received rave reviews from worldwide DJs will be released on Flow/Wolf Music Portugal with remixes from man of the minute Guy J and Buzzin Fly star Chris Woodward. But versatility is one thing that sets Tomas apart from the rest of the pack. Each production he puts his mind too comes with its own piece of magic. His association with Pacha Recordings is tight having remixed some of their biggest tracks including Carl Kennedy’s Ride the Storm, Bob Marley vs. Richard Grey’s No Deputy and recently the Pacha Live compilation that was produced and remixed by Tomas and production partner, Pacha resident, Tucillo.
Currently working on a 5 EP deal for Pacha Rec, and an album for Pieces of Eight Rec, Tomas strives off the fast pace.
While his hard work seems to be paying off, the future can only be bright for the rising star.
With a nomination for ‘Best Ibiza DJ’ at the industry’s leading award ceremony, ‘The DJ Awards’ up his sleeve and supporters such as Pete Tong calling Tomas ‘ One of the brightest discoveries of my Summer and purveyor of hot tunes as well’ and Nic Fanciulli saying‘ ’Tomas is one of the brightest new stars in the house scene’ … big things are destined. Tomas Hedberg is on the rise.
Dedicated and determined, keep an eye on this one as he’s not only one for the present but he’s one for the future.
