Official Biography

Tito Rodriguez, whose roots lay deep within the Chilean culture, was raised in Santiago, Chile, only to later immigrate to Canada where he found a home in Calgary and a career in house music.

Growing up under a heavy veil of influence within the genres of 80′s electronic music that ranged from New Order to Depeche Mode, Tito was fascinated by the idea of housing his own sounds and began to draw much of his taste for electronic enthusiasm from artists such as the Sneaker Pimps, Scissor Sisters, Soft Cell, Mark Ruder and Kelli Ali.

After the electronic music industry underwent the 90′s Euro influential installment, and being an avid fan of the now defunct television series Electronic Circus, Tito became so consumed by the sound of electronic that he built enough drive to increase his motivations.

In early 2000, Tito was ready to take electronic music out of the confines of the global underground and, in pursuit of the hottest tracks and all of the classics he could find, began to expand his acceptance for the different genres and sub-genres electronic music had to offer. His explorations of sound led him to develop tastes for the percussive rhythms of drum and bass and wobble bassline of speed garage, where he then started to collect his own library of electronic records. Upon his search and in housing his mass of collected records, Tito decided to take the DJ alias of Euphorian Angel -a title influenced through his direct appreciation for early Happy Hardcore and Hard Trance genres. Although such genres were what drove Tito’s original passions to aspire, he evolved his tastes further in time and became captivated by the musical stylings of legendary bangin’ filter house producers/DJs Antoine Clamaran, Bad Boy Bill, Hatiras and Olav Basoski. His respect for the house music genre was set, and it was at this point that Tito felt it was only proper to choose a new identity-one that had meaning and suited his newly established passion for the sounds of house.

During 2003 Tito undertook the meaningful DJ alias of Titus1 and ventured into playing/producing music with this identity. Working with vinyl turntables, trying to understand public performances and attempting to bring people together, Tito used the blend of electric sounds to create movements within music scenes that coexisted but didn’t often mix.

Tito’s first break came when he was offered a radio residency on an internet-based show called !gnite, which was provided by digitally imported afterhours. He adapted his influences of progressive and uplifting trance to draw support and captivated listeners with his choice of track selection. This transition generated an invitation to his first rave event, Children of Energy, which caused a motion in his life that later spawned more experience in performing in various caliber shows and clubs including Ministry of Sound NYE, Fashion Television’s Encore, Ministry of Sound REDD, San Francisco Love Parade and MTV Lovefest Tour.

At a point where there was a collective vision to give back to the underground scene, and in Tito’s mission to share his passion and love for music to a variety of people and places, Tito began to develop lasting relationships with local fellow DJs and producers, who all formed a production company, where they began residencies at various local clubs including The Whiskey, The Warehouse and currently The Bank Night Club.

Tito’s passion for music only grew deeper with time and as he matured and thrived to become an established house DJ and producer, he was invited to perform at a variety of shows for Boodang Music Canada, Ink Promotions, and Union Electronic. This only allowed Tito to become even more motivated and influenced to chase his passion.

Finally, in December of 2010, Tito founded and established his record label, Orphan Music. It was this accomplishment which he found himself truly able to express his passion, and make his contributions to the industry in a matured manner. It is through his own label that he is now able to bring together a foundation for his own sound, and promote a true movement of musical stylings of those other hard-working producer/remixers who are changing the industry today.

As time transpires, mixing experience with a driving performance of tasteful house and electro influences, Tito combines such elements with a sprinkling of garage flavour. In an always exciting show, this crowd-pleasing DJ’s signature sound of quirky, electro, house and dirty pop has allowed him to play in numerous cities, festivals and sold-out club shows across Canada and the United States. Party’s of all sizes ranging to as large as 15,000. Tito has also had the opportunity to open for over 100 international DJs, playing alongside Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Calvin Harris, Mstrkrft, ATB, Steve Angello, Chuckie, Ferry Corsten, Hardwell, Armin Van Buuren, Tommy Trash, Dirty South, Patrick Haagenaar, Axwell, Stupid Fresh, Hook N Sling, Eddie Halliwell, Marcel Woods, Dash Berlin and the Guru Josh Project.
