Artist/DJ/Producer Thomas Gandey stormed through 2010 with his highly successful EPs for Southern Fried Records including Radio 1 Essential New Tune and topping the Buzz chart with the smash ‘Mercy Hump’ and crowning him the ‘King of Bouncy Tech House with ’Trucks’ which was Annie Macs favourite record.

Usually known for his Cagedbaby guise with songwriting and trademark disco he has been releasing solid dance floor tunes from his studio in the South of France for the past year that packed dance-floors have been moving to during his highly in demand DJ sets. Pushing technological boundaries whilst never losing sight of keeping his audience entertained, his trademark DJ style (an alluring mix of tech-house, deep techno and disco mixed with all out party music) has further influenced what he does in the studio and draws comparisons to James Zabelia live.

Having released two albums, produced many chart topping artists as well as the compilations with Fatboy Slim, Pacha, DJ Mag and Radio 1 Essential Mixes, he is also a highly demanded remixer, including the huge remix with Radioslave for Nelski and Carl Craig. Latest remixes for The Editors, The Temper Trap, Grace Jones and Alphabeat received love and support from key tastemakers like Pete Tong, KIssy Sell Out, Zane Lowe, Sasha and Aeroplane. His widestream appeal is across the board.

Gandey continues to tour live and DJ internationally with residencies for We Love Space in Ibiza and Razzmatazz in Barcelona and touring Europe, USA, Australasia, Canada, Asia, Indonesia & Japan. As a live artist Cagedbaby supported The Chemical Brothers, Underworld and Fatboy Slim on world tours and played mainstages at just about every major festival from Fuji Rock to the Big Day Out to Creamfields and Bestival.

When it comes to production Thomas does everything himself in the studio. A classically trained pianist and multiinstrumentalist and self confessed analogue synth head Gandey’s wide musical influence shows in his unique productions, as varied as they are unique.

Set all this along side several collaboration projects about to be released, Thomas Gandey is a name that will undoubtedly be popping up in your playlist this year as he continues to release his new material on the mighty Southern Fried Records.
