For the past 15 years, Thizz Markie has moved between the worlds of hip-hop and electronic music, taking his favorite parts of both to smash together a hot new sound that make clubs explode. Like the name implies, Thizz Markie is what you get when you mix 90s hip hop with that dum dum powder we all know and love. It seems that the rest of the world has finally caught on to what this lifelong DJ realized a long time ago, that hip hop and electronic music are converging, and the result will make your booty clap.
Since arriving to San Francisco in 2008, Thizz Markie has worked day and night to bring bass music to the Bay. He co-hosts “Savage Future” on Glitch.fm with his long-time collaborater Obstac, and is a resident at Juicebox, a future beats party in Oakland. Currently Thizz Markie is setting up domestic and international tours, as well as keeping up with his breakneck pace of releasing a mixtape every week.
His innovative style has also made him an obvious addition to Trap City SF, San Francisco’s Premier all-Trap monthly. Watch as he and the rest of the Trap City fam continue to get the Bay turnt out and push underground bass music to new levels.
