The Japanese Popstars started out using MySpace as a tool to attract fans, A&R, record labels, DJs and ended up signing a 3 single and 1 album deal with Paul Jackson?s very own Dozer imprint. Now with major support coming from the likes of Pete Tong, Steve Lamacq, Paul Woolford, XFMs Eddy Temple-Morris, Fergie, 2FM and BBC Radio 1. Their first release “Rodney Trotter” is being released and the promo on this one is hotting up. It has already been getting chained all over the world, from Ibiza to Poland and many of the large European festivals.
The lads themselves have been buzzing since the tune was dropped on Pete Tongs Essential Selection, plus the following night DJ Fergie even gave listeners a sneak peak at one of the forthcoming Japstars tracks for 2007 on his BBC Radio 1 show, then the following week he had it as “Speaker Freaker” and it was the BIGGEST tune in his box! World famous DJs have been contacting the lads directly through MySpace requesting their unreleased tracks.

Major heads in the industry have tipped The Japanese Popstars as the ones to watch in the coming months. They have literally come out of nowhere and are only just 8 months old. The amount of giant leaps that they have taken in the dance music industry is an accolade in itself and even dance magazine Mixmag have labeled them as the ones to watch.
The lads have been offered their 1st DJ residency at Dublin?s new Tripod complex, which was once the famous Red Box night club, now newly renovated and renamed. The Japanese Popstars will play a bi-monthly residency at the new venue which boasts a 1500 people capacity and an absolutely superb sound system! This is the first time the boys have been offered anything like this and they are extremely happy be involved in Dublin?s new superclub, as part of the Friday 515 nights.
