Biography

Seattle-based DJ Tamara is a resident of the west coast collective Uniting Souls, and is an original member of the Cathedral Band, an experimental live/electronic fusion group based in New York City. She is also a regular on Seattle’s Groovetech web radio and was the first DJ in the world to have played at all four official Groovetech broadcast hubs (Seattle, SF, London, and now Halcyon in NY). A classically trained composer/vocalist and self-taught electronic music producer, she opened for Ani Difranco and Maceo Parker’s 1999 summer tour, and was asked by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to teach a workshop about working in the electronic music industry for their GRAMMY In The Schools program in February of 2002. Tamara was the winner of ODMD’s year 2000 Seattle Dance Music Award in the category of Best Jungle DJ.
