Danish vocalist, Stine Grove, is a characteristic voice in the EDM scene. Grove (not to be confused with the musical term “groove”) is an English last name and means “A small wood”.
Stine Grove’s upward trajectory in the trance world started in 2008, almost by coincidence. Due to her then singer/songwriter project some producers discovered in hers a voice that is very suitable for this melodic and expressive genre.
Hence began the work with a diverse series of producers and composers – and thus far all releases including Stine Grove’s vocals have been very well received and supported by the DJ and trance community.
With support from some of the biggest names in the trance scene such as Armin Van Buuren, Tiësto, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten and Judge Jules (BBC Radio 1) Stine Grove’s vocals have been broadcasted – and recognized by numerous trance lovers – worldwide.
Stine Grove’s soprano voice has been both rhythmically and classically trained during over two decades of choir and ensemble singing, and over time the sound of her voice has developed to be ethereal yet strong.
Furthermore having played the piano for well over a decade has given Stine Grove a fundamental and well-developed understanding of harmonies and voicings, and she achieved top marks in Music Theory & Music Performance at final exams.
Stine Grove does not restrict her vocal work to trance, but records vocals for producers and composers in many other genres as well, for example industrial, shoegazer, psychedelic and downbeat. Furthermore she’s working on her solo project – a mix of electronica, trip hop and shoegazer.
