Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Marco Delgado (dj Stereophonik) became a genuine product of that environment – a house music dj. Absorbing as he went, Marco developed an ear for house music by just ‘being there’ and simply listening to the very best that New York city nightlife had to offer. From 1988 to 1991 he became a regular at NYC hotspots such as: ‘The Tunnel’, ‘The Underground’ at The Warehouse (NYC), ‘The World’ in Alphabet City, Quicks, MK, The Octagon, Roxy, Limelight and Red Zone. At that time, djs Tony Humphries, Frankie Knuckles, Todd Terry, Lil Louie Vega, Danny Tenaglia, Roger Sanchez, Jesse Saunders, Junior Vasquez, Tommy Musto, Frankie Bones and Kevin Saunderson were some of the artists working these venues. The fact that they were the pioneers of the genre house music, was instrumental in Stereophonik´s development. The essence of these collective experiences is reflected in the style with which he controls the dancefloor. Dj Stereophonik made his debut as a disc jockey in the Washington D.C. rave scene. Opening for such talents as: The East Coast Boogiemen, dj Thomas Blondet, Sam ‘The Man’ Burns, T-Kolai and dj Genesis, Marco honed his skill alongside a very competetive and talented few.. He has worked as a professional dj at the following Washington D.C. venues: The Edge, The Cage, State of the Union, Andalu, Sesto Senso, Red, 1223, Ozio, Marx Cafe, Georgetown Station, Shark Club and Cada Vez. In Orlando, Florida at Alpha Bar and Thee Grotto .. he has also dj’d in Bolivia at: Avalon, The Underground Club, Pimienta Verde, Spin, Meknus, Traffic, The Lounge, Ganesha, Marka , Banana Lounge, Ratabar, Namaste … in Chile at: Club Chillout, Drake´s and the ´Capsula Electronica´ radio show.
