Itʼs been an impressive rise to the top for Australian DJ, vocalist and songwriter Kate Elsworth, through her chart-topping and breaking single ‘Aliveʼ (Phazing Records, 2011). Co-produced by house-music icons Dirty
South and Thomas Gold, their follow up track ‘Eyes Wide Open’ has already taken the world by storm in 2012. Elsworth, who’s best known for her lyrical virtuoso and soulful vocals is in high demand on the decks, featuring DJ & live performances at the world’s best loved clubs including Amnesia Ibiza, Liv Miami and Pacha NY.
The early years of Elsworthʼs career saw her love-affair with music blossom, singing in jazz bands and writing for international artists, Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls and French Idol winner, Christophe Willem. In 2007 while immersed in the insatiable atmosphere of Ibiza for the first time, Elsworth developed an intuitive ear for house music. “It was an entirely new experience for me. It was magical”, says Elsworth.
Cue to 2012 and since the release of her critically acclaimed tracks ʻAliveʼ and ‘Eyes Wide Open’, it’s been life in the fast lane for Kate Elsworth. Touring regularly across the Atlantic she performs as far afield as Panama City with Enrique Iglesias and as close to the action as it gets in the main room of Amnesia Ibiza. With a packed schedule of international gigs and studio time, Elsworthʼs time is divided between Europe, Australia and the U.S.
2012 is set to be Elsworth’s biggest year yet with ‘Eyes Wide Open’ receiving acclaim and charting success in January 2012. All in all, it’s enough to the likes of Dave Grutman promoter of Liv, Miami buzzing “…you’re a real star. Look forward to your return. Amazing!!!”.
