DJ Soxxi aka Michelle Chase has always loved music, from kindergarden when she won the award for ‘best singer’ to adolescence when at 13 started acting as a ’promoter’ to get into local Ska/Punk shows for free. She eventually moved from South Florida to Los Angeles, where she quickly found herself working as an actress/model in the film industry, appearing on a few major networks, films and magazines. She also was scouted to be a “Perfect 10” model boxer, as her hard work and training paid off leaving the team with record of 9-1-0 in the ring.
Wanting to give back to the community she co-founded a non profit organization that utilizes boxing to help provide college scholarships and empowerment to underprivileged girls.
Of course, she was always more obsessed with music then most of her friends, and showed it, her knack for music did not go unnoticed, her friend and Hollywood Producer/Director suggested music consulting and supervision for film and TV. She landed a position assisting Music Supervisors on a few films including Hancock and The Kingdom. This was great work but she realized that she was too young to be stuck behind a desk, and while this was a great career path in the future, performing and bring music to the people live face-to-face is what she yearned for most.
For the past few years, Soxxi has been pursuing Dee Jaying full-time and has produced a few tracks on her own and has also been remixed by other Dee Jays. In the midst of working in Hollywood, she was scouted by the hit TV show Survivor, and was featured in their seventeenth season.
In late 2009 after being introduced to the Legendary Techno DJ Digital Boy, she moved to Las Vegas to break into one of largest club markets and leave her mark! Now, working as a resident DJ at TAO and LAVO, Soxxi’s future in this business couldn’t be brighter.
