The journey of Jeff Clark…aka Skip-A-Beat…as a DJ has consisted of him establishing himself as one of the top Breakbeat providers in the Carolina’s and earning a reputation as a dedicated and passionate individual because of his hard work with in the Dance Music Community. This has allowed him to become a beloved figure in the scene and has also led Skip-A-Beat to develop a genuine sense of appreciation for the chance to celebrate his love of music by working the decks with his own unique style.

Starting his DJ career in 1998 by playing Hip-Hop and mainstream dance music in Myrtle Beach, Skip-A-Beat gradually became interested in the Electronic Dance Music scene. As time passed by, he soon was engulfed by the awesome vibe of the underground and completely swept away by the euphoric sound of the music. The connection he had formed with the music, lifestyle, and people of the scene…resulted in his decision to begin playing breaks in 1999. So feeding off a love of music and effected by influences such as Sharaz, Tony Faline, Icey, Magic Mike and Micro, Skip progressed not only as a DJ, but as a proud member of the dance culture. He began to turn heads with his distinct ability to combine a wide variety of genre’s…while at the same time…still generating a dancefloor friendly vibe. The groove that Skip-A-Beat creates is complimented by his strong technical skills on the turntables as well. An astonished crowd can only watch and marvel as he rips the cut with tricks such as… scratching with his nose, scratching behind his back and even scratching with the record on fire. A profound degree of excitement and bliss dances through the night whenever Skip-A-Beat is on the decks. All of these aspects have made it possible for him to have residencies at…Xanadu – Myrtle Beach SC 1998-2000, Mother Fletchers – Myrtle Beach SC 1999-2002, Industry – Myrtle Beach SC 2001 , Tribeca – Myrtle Beach SC 2001-2002 , Global Groove Foam Party Series – Myrtle Beach SC 2001-Present , Motion – Greensboro NC Feb 2003 – July 2003 , Nine – Greensboro NC Nov. 2003 – Present…and has given him the opportunity to perform with such highly acclaimed DJ’s as…Dieselboy, Ak1200, Icey, Micro, Tony Faline, Huda Hudia, Hardware, Rick West, Simply Jeff, Keith Mackenzie, Magic Mike, Baby Anne, and Mike B…as well as the very best local and regional talent. In addition to playing, he has also played an integral role in bringing national and international headliners to the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach), Charlotte, Greensboro and Wilmington areas. His attention also is concentrated on the production of his own original material…as well as working on remixes. The adventure has been long, but Skip-A-Beat would not change any of it. His progression as a DJ and member of the underground, is an experience that is both inspiring and enlightening. The man known as Skip-A-Beat…aka Skip…is thankful for all of the blessings and he demonstrates his appreciation and desire to honor the music, every time he steps up behind the wheels of steel.
