Ask SJ to define his exact DJ and music style and he will raise an eyebrow and respond “you mean we should be the same every night??!”
SJ started DJ’ing whilst he was at school in his local town playing mainly chart and commercial music. Before long he got a pair of decks and learned to mix properly buying the odd dance vinyl here and there. He managed to get a gig at an under 18’s night where he spun house and trance and impressed the club owner enough to get asked back the following week. Soon he got a residency and began diversifying into other styles. He majored in funky house spinning at a popular ‘Subsonic’ night bi-weekly. Now SJ has had 3 residency’s at clubs in his area and has guested at numerous nightspots up and down the South West of England.
Every night is different from the last, and no two are the same!! SJ has moved away from the commercial side of dance and plays anything from funky and underground house to progressive and hard trance. Some nights may have a funky/jazz/Latin feel to them, some may just be upbeat and hard as you like.
