The story began as a hobby in 2007 to pass time in between school and work. It quickly went from a hobby to a full fledged project consuming ample amounts of his time. As with most artists, his initial tracks were very amateur and needed quite a bit of refining. Piece by piece, day by day, he managed to educate himself on the essentials to producing quality music. He spent over 4 years perfecting his craft with minimal exposure or gratification. His projects merely served as a foundation and educational purpose to better himself as a musician.
His name is Shane Vikus.
Let’s fast forward to the present day. He has played in many of Southern California’s best clubs including: Vanguard, The Yost Theater, Sutra, Ecco Hollywood, Circus LA, Ten Nightclub, and Avec Nightclub. He is currently a resident for GIANT Club at The Yost Theater and Brussel’s Bistro in addition to the multiple other residencies he has held. He has played alongside artists such as Morgan Page, Mark Knight, Nadia Ali, Tommy Trash, Green Velvet, Serge Devant, LA Riots, and Calvin Harris. Shane has also released music on reputable music sites including Beatport and iTunes. His first track released, “Vespilo”, which includes 2 remixes by Ultra Foxx and Darwin Paul, was picked up by and released by Banguru Records in 2011.
He recently joined forces with another talented DJ/producer named Daniel Minaya and together they have formed the group Anti-Heroes. Keep an eye out for these DJs/producers as they make waves in the Southern California electronic music scene.
