It is the epidemy of craftsmanship and expression when as a musical director you’re able to weave, so meticulously, music of various genres in order to establish an environment that celebrates the creative genius of a people. From Kingston Jamaicas rhythms of resistance, to the guitar quartets of the rural, marginalized neighborhoods of the Dominican Republic, Sensei Massive takes listeners through a journey in sound. Indeed, his set brings redemption lyrics, expressed reggaematically, and tales of courtship and heartbreak, characteristic of Bachata, to venues. Morphing, with the strategic precision and control of a true Sensei, Bachata, Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Reggae, and Hiphop, Sensei Massive creates an environment that inspires dialogue, and grace in movement, grace in dance.
As a resident DJ at Downshift Radio, Sensei Massives artistry is showcased on an international level. Through live audio and video streaming, Sensei displays his skills to an audience of approximately 40,000 listeners per broadcast. Domestically, he has electrified crowds throughout the Northeastern region of the United States. Past festivities include spins at the renowned China Club, mid-town N.Y.C, Brown Universities Meehan Auditorium for the annual Spring Break Concert, and the District of Columbia’s Club Metro. Under his direct tutelage have been the likes of DJ MarvLS, the official DJ for both Loon and Bad Boy recording artist Mario Winans, Power 105s very own, DJ Carl Blaze, and Brooklyn’s best-kept secret, DJ Cause. Within the next couple of months, Sensei Massive will be spinning at venues throughout the northeast, 12 states (Maine to Virginia), promoting Land and Water Records release of Hakums much-anticipated LP The Nu Dawn.
