Having spent yet another successful summer flying between residencies in Ibiza, Napa, Kos and the UK to name a few, Scottie B is a fresh faced veteran in the DJ Game! From his early beginnings playing at events in his local area to the Superclubs of one of the biggest baddest and sexiest party islands on the planet he is guaranteed to bring you a Party mix like no other.
He began his story in1997 as a DJ/ producer, djing at events in his local north London area alongside host Digga D. This partnership resulted in the creation of a faithful fan base and in turn produced his first break in 1998 when he was asked to play a weekly primetime set at New Orleans. He quickly built up hype at this weekly venue and was soon featured on the award-winning underground station Freek FM – the biggest community radio station between 1992 and 2002 that received four consecutive national awards.
In July 2001, Scottie B was officially made resident for the legendary, international urban brand TwiceasNice by MD Steve Gordon and in turn joined the Nice Talent Artist Agency and within 6 months sealed his position as one of the freshest talents on the urban circuit.
Scottie B has played at London’s biggest clubs, including; The Ministry of Sound, Rouge (Sin), The Works, Sound Republic, Turnmills, Eros, Rainforest Café’, & Scala. He has taken his phenomenal talent to venues nationwide including: The Works; Birmingham, Batchwood Hall; St. Albans, Liquid; Luton, The Big Reunion @ Butlins; Skegness, Hidden; Manchester, Creation; Brighton, Gate House; Derby, The Arena; Liverpool, Kudos; Ashford, Park End; Oxford. Liquid Stevenage, Liquid Sutton, Liquid Newbury, Liquid Basingstoke & Brunel Rooms Swindon.
Not content with national success Scottie has stretched his talents overseas adding some of the hottest venues on the international circuit to this impressive list. He has travelled as far a field as Lagos (Nigeria) where he played at R&B Superstar Ginuwine’s concert alongside double MOBO Award-winner Steve Sutherland, Andrez from Damage, DJ Luck and DJ 279 and recently joined Alesha Dixon on her Eastern Tour in Japan and the Far East as her official DJ.
European venues include; Es Paradis, Eden and El Divino; Ibiza, Grand Hyatt Dubai, Club Starlight; Kos, Club Night Park; Kyrinea Northern Cyprus, Cova den Xoroi Club; Menorca, Club Frequency & H2; Falaraki, Club Spice; Malia, Busby’s; Tenerife, Abyss; Ayia Napa, Tito’s; Majorca , Matts Bar: Portugal, Club Hacienda & Byblos; Croatia and Venus club: Estonia to name a few.
As well as travelling across the world, Scottie presented his own weekend radio show on London’s Choice FM, interviewing the cream of young urban talent including Chris Brown, Ginuwine, Amerie, Ciara, Mario, Omarion and Bow Wow. In 2006 Scottie B along with Kool J presented “The Channel U Christmas Special”, which has led to Scottie having opportunities with MTV Base and Kiss TV. He is currently presenting hot new show ‘From the Endz’ on MTV Base which features on the infamous Lick Show with award winning DJ Trevor Nelson.
Scottie currently works closely with big name artists and entertainers such as Alesha Dixon, Richard Blackwood, Steve Sutherland, Harvey, Lonyo, Shortee Blitz, Matt Jam Lamont, EZ and MTV’S Kat touring up and down the country and internationally. At the 2008 Notting Hill Carnival Scottie wowed the crowds on the Choice FM /MTV Base float and at the hotly anticipated Choice FM after carnival party @ the Indigo 2. He also received two nominations for ‘Best Club DJ’ and ‘Best DJ’ respectively at the 2008 MOBO Awards and the UMA’S.
Being Alesha’s official DJ, he has just remixed ‘breathe slow’ from her new album and followed up his last two productions ‘Excuse Me’ and ‘Love Letters’ by lead producing TwiceasNice’s Urban Club Album of the year released December 2008.
To add to his impressive list previous achievements include being selected to submit one of his two-hour mix tapes for pioneering digital radio station BBC 1xtra for their official launch in September 2002 and in 2006 he had is own show on the station to end the Hip hop weekend.
Scottie B is also an integral component of the SONY BMG Street Team. He’s also part of Vocal Fusion, which boasts UK garage pioneers MC Creed, Norris ‘Da Boss’ Windross, Jazzy J and Danny Richards. Scottie B has played at after parties for International Urban Artists such as Jay-Z, Ne-yo and Blu Cantrell, Wyclef & J-Lo.
Scottie B has utilized his impressive knowledge of urban music, in his contribution to 2004’s TwiceasNice album release, TwiceasNice Urban Club Classics. The success of this album led Scottie B to join pioneering DJs Shortee Blitz and Matt Jam Lamont on the 2006 TwiceasNice Album: The TwiceasNice Weekender where Scottie B mixed the third CD; “Sunday with Scottie B” in this 3 disc compilation. The 2006 CD has since reached gold status selling well over 100,000 copies making Scottie B an award winning DJ. In 2007 Scottie B took another step forward in his career by mixing another compilation for TwiceasNice – Urban Anthems which was released in June 2007. As a result of the albums success it led to residencies in Ibiza, Croatia and Dubai. His producing talents have seen him produce 4 albums in 3 years, an achievement in itself.
Scottie has worked on numerous campaigns including working with companies such as 3 mobile, O2, Motorola, Orange, Sony, Bacardi, Playstation as well as record labels including Universal, Atlantic and Sony BMG. He has also appeared in numerous press to include the Voice Newspaper, Young Voices, Rewind Magazine to name a few.
Scottie B has also achieved a BA Hons degree in Music Audio Technology and Music Industry Studies, which he gained at Kingston University (August 2003). Scottie B shares his knowledge and passion for music running his own workshops teaching young kids and adults how to deejay. Scottie B cites his influences as Kid Cupri and Grandmaster Flash, Shortee Blitz, EZ, Matt Jam Lamont, and Heartless Crew to name a few.
2009 has been an ongoing success, kicking off with album tours up and down the country alongside a whole host of UK Talent including Ironik, Chipmunk, Gracious K & Crazy Cousinz aswell as featuring on exclusive line ups in Ibiza with Taio Cruz, Ms Dynamite and countless other Celebrity DJ’s and Acts.
