Taking up DJing in 2005, Ruby first discovered house music in early 2000’s, attending raves & undergrounds in California. Given 2 belt driven Stanton turntables, Ruby started to put in work and realized her love and passion for the underground sounds of house music, spending countless hours of practice sessions day & night until she dialed in her skills. Feeling confident, she started to blossom and around that time promoters started asking her to play parties around the central valley. That is when Kolony founder Pete Carreon recognized her talent, programing, track selection and beat matching skills and had asked Ruby to join the Kolony family, a underground house music collective of Artists/DJs. In 2010 Ruby landed her first residency at Claytons in Modesto, CA. Shortly thereafter, she moved out to the bay area in the fall where she had the platform to open up her network to a broader audience and has created a fan base by landing her first San Francisco gig at the legendary Endup. Shortly after her move, she became a resident DJ of the Endup and now has a monthly, Playhouse, at Asiento. Always having had an interest in producing, Ruby has worked along side one of her mentors Arturo Garces. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for her unique, eclectic sounds, ranging from deep, tech, funky, dub, acid, minimal, house music to techno.
