Biography

If you summed up Riotgear’s style in one word it would be this: Diverse. A passion for deep moving Tech House mixed with the necessity of developing a big room sound has molded their approach to building dance floor energy. With a prominent tribal flavor, their sets weave both uplifting and dark elements together, creating the undeniable sound that they have become known for.

For the past 10 years, Andy Pate and Robert Dale (RioTGeaR) have steadily built their reputation as talented DJs in Tech House / Techno scene. This notoriety has been fueled not only by the success of their online radio show, Mocean District, which broadcasts from the platform of the 2010 IDMA’s ‘Best Radio Station’, Digitally Imported and has featured artists like Joris Voorn, Tim Green, Pleasurekraft, UMEK and more, but also by Ultra Music Festival’s “UMF Radio” which they host/produce on Sirius/XM’s Electric Area.

Enter 2011 – an exceptional year indeed….

RioTGeaR achieved their 8th consecutive appearance at Ultra Music Festival in March while snagging a spot on the festival’s much coveted Main Stage.

Shortly after in April, they were given the honor of hosting/producing Ultra Music Festival’s “UMF Radio” which airs on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio…making that their 2nd weekly radio show.

Then in May, RioTGeaR took 2nd place in the Carl Cox ‘Revolution at Space’ remix contest for Marco Bailey’s “Black Pearl” quickly followed by yet another achievement.

With June came the announcement of RioTGeaR on Live Nation’s historic Identity Festival “Road to Ultra Music Festival” Bus Tour, where for the first time ever, a caravan of buses would carry the tour’s roster of 20+ headliners through 20 cities across the US in just over a month’s time.

July brought the inclusion of RioTGeaR on Cue Music’s roster, a boutique artist agency that represents high profile artists like Spektre, Beltek, Space Cowboy, Filthy Rich, Blake Lewis, and many others.

When August arrives, RioTGeaR will set out on the road to join the Identity Festival tour and surely begin a new chapter in their blossoming career as they continue to press forward and achieve their dreams….
