A native St. Louisianan, born & raised, started on the seen back in the early eightyâs when he started deejaying high school parties. Later he started doing urban dance mixes for the radio stations in St. Louis. While doing mix shows for radio stations, this landed him jobs in the Premier night clubs in the area. After pursuing jobs in the music industry, he starting doing remixes for Metro – Mix & Urban-Mix which consisted of dance remixes & hip-hop remixes which was serviced nation wide to DJs that subscribed to it.
Attending the WMC in 2002, DJ Reece finished a respectable 2nd place position in the DJ competition. With plans to enter the competition again in 2003, Reece was unable to compete due to a paperwork error. In 2004 DJ Reece returned to the WMC in the competition winning 2nd place. DJ Reece was also voted as one the Best of Midwest DJ’s by the former Crobar in Chicago.
DJ Reece is now one of the bigger name DJ / Producers out of the St. Louis area. Currently Dj Reece is the Ceo / Owner of Release Management, a company designed to promote electronic deejays across the nation also promote Electronic events in St. Louis. DJ Reece’s former residency every weekend was at the OZ Nightclub for 10 years strong, with Reece spinning a LIVE radio mix show called “Pulse” on Z-107.7 (Clear Channel) in St. Louis, and previous held a live mix show from the Oz Nightclub Called THE SUNDAY NIGHT RITUAL on 105.7 THE POINT! which was dedicated to electronic music. Now DJ Reece has nightly residences in various club across the midwest. He’s residencies included Home Nightclub, Sugar Lounge, Tequila Wyld, Oz Nightclub, Spybar, with guest appearances at Shiver Vodka Bar, Rue 13, Mollys, Sonny in Soulard, Manderin, Club 15 & Harrys to name a few in St. Louis. DJ Reece also performed in Chicago at the Lalapalooza (Lady Gaga’s After Party) with Victor R & Danny Boy at Sound Bar (Chicago) . Reece also a big name in the ’’party’’ scene in St. Louis, he’s opened shows for Djs like Bad Boy Bill, Mixin Marc, Steve Smooth, Alex Peace, Bam Bam, DJ Dan, Jon Bishop, DJ Irene & Frankie Bones just to name a few.
Future plans for Reece include a self produced CD and make more self produced tracks, some guest appearances across the Country and of course keeping the Vibe alive in St. Louis.
