It was in late 2001, when a passing interest in the underground techno and trance sound soon developed into a passion to step up to the decks. Inspired by such DJs as Chris Liberator, Julian Liberator, Dave the Drummer and Patrick DSP, Rayne’s style developed into a unique sound of driving Acid Techno and Hard Techno that you can expect to be hard, fast, yet very funky or smooth melodic progressive al la Deadmau5 or Glenn Morrison. Having played several large-scale events and festivals around western Canada, sharing the stage with acts like Patrick DSP, DJ Craze, Misja Helsloot, Brisk, Nuclear Ramjet, BK and Chris Liberator, Rayne has been working hard on creating a buzz and becoming a permanent fixture on the national electronic music scene. Currently holding residencies with Winnipegs, Crown Productions and the R.A.V.E.N. crew. 2003 saw a bite by the production bug, after working on several productions with Phosphor/PhaXis of Blizzard Traxx as well as solo tracks for the label Warning Record, fusing the hard acid techno sound with eerie live guitar.
As a solo artist Rayne’s main project leans towards progressive house and the more progressive sounds of techno. Music has always been a passion in this artists life as a chronic perfectionist, who is always seeking to better himself and his style.
