Entrusted with the live performances of his band SK84Life, in the mid-nineties Ramiro Gabelli saw a fothcoming stage of change in the growing Argentine electronic music scene. From his evident interest in Soul and Hip Hop, he then decided that his new place would be behind the turntables and took a tacit commitment with the sound exploration: supplying his band with bases, scratches and loops, heading the band Tumbas
the supporting act of the farewell of Soda Stereo at River Plate Stadium and carrying out special sets at the booths of different clubs of the city.
Being part of the team of DJs responsible of the little underground club Comodore, Rama
such is his artistic alias quickly demonstrated a personal sound, rich in percussive styles which would inscribe him along Javier Zuker’s school. In fact, both DJs shared the booths at the mythical Social parties which were thrown till the beginning of the year 2000. That year Rama was summoned to take part of the staff of Clubland ([email protected] Buenos Aires). His performances at that club were the best showcase for his career and the spring-board which allowed him to be a feature at international festivals such as Creamfields in all its editions.
Currently, Rama plays, alongside Javier Zuker and Fabian Dellamonica, the Batonga! parties on Wednesdays at Voodoo Bar (Buenos Aires): an invitation to discover the latest trends in House, Afro beat and Hip Hop. Also he contributes Metrodance 95.1 FM with his music selecting criteria during the show Weekender.
