Brooklyn based David Pierce is an artist by day and a curator of sound by night. Bringing his roots of Chicago House from the Windy City to Brooklyn New York, his sound has only deepened and progressed. His taste in house music has been described by audiences as âamazingâ. DJ Pierceâs sets combine rugged, unusual, and distinctive house beats that make you want to dance.
While not ignoring the classics, Pierce constantly searches through the bins of New York City and the world for the rare and unheard gems of house music. His style also embraces the grittier elements of sound usually associated with hip hop or techno, and contrasts them with a smooth, soulful backdrop to create an experience in house.
Pierceâs dance friendly style has allowed him access to venues as varied as the house dens of Chicago and the rough edge rock and dance clubs of New York. He has also DJ/hosted nights such as Radio Mundial at Southpaw and Midnite Matinee at the NYC landmark CBGBâs as the alter ego DJ Mayonnaise Hands. At the same time his music is right at home in smooth house lounges like Club Blue in Miami where he plays alongside Mike Steele, Kirill, and Rafi at Club Blue in Miami.
Current projects in the works include collaborations with drum machine/keyboard innovators Supermanâs Guest List and Remixes of Unexpected Sources. His experiments in sound/video/2d have been exhibited all over the world including galleries in New York, Shanghai, Chicago, and recently at The Brooklyn Museum.
