Hi, I’m Philip aka Dj Philocybin, born in 1980. Since my childhood I have been interested in music and was never satisfied with just listening. First, I played the guitar in a rock’n roll band, then a punkrock band, then I discovered psychedelic rock music. In 1999, I visited my first goa trance open air, being highly prejudiced against electronic music at the time – and what is there left to say? I was instantly infected. I started to buy every goa cd I could get my hands on and found there was a lot of music I liked better than that what I heard on parties – so I decided that my place to be at a party was behind the decks. One year later I was playing at little open air parties, learning by doing. In 2001 I finished school and moved from my hometown Kiel to Berlin. I began to study biology and quickly made new friends in the local psytrance scene. By 2002 I was playing at my first parties in Berlin. In 2003 some friends founded the “Schwingkreis”, a team of party organizers and djs. One year later, I was just into producing my first tracks, my daughter Lisa was born. So now I shared my passion for music not only with studying biology but also with family life. I gave up the production of own music, but I still manage to dj at several parties per year. Well, in 2007, my son Lucas was born and in 2009 my son Jacob. Family goes first, but I’ll still be heard, no worries – kids do get older with time ;-) My sets are a link between full-on and progressive psytrance, ranging between 140 and 145bpm. I try to carefully select fitting tracks and build up a little story. My favorite time to play is early in the night, continously building up energy, but full-on freaks might rather hear my music in the morning hours, since I love melodic emotional (but not too cheesy) grooves. Anyhow, I’d be pleased to take you on a trip so see ya @ the dance floor ;-)
