Born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1971, Pete Trax is best known as coveted producer and DJ extraordinaire whose resume includes 252 nights per year of spinning drum and base and trance in London, Athens and New York. Trax rose to underground superstardom in the early 90s scratching beats onto Cyprus; trance enclave Agia Napa, when in 1995 he was invited by a world famous DJ to share the stage in England. In apprentice style, he was introduced to the world of progressive house trance, which he incorporated into his play list that soon thereafter began to evolve. After Traxâs spinning rose to fame throughout a series of U.K. parties that ranged from London to Birmingham, he decided to embark on his biggest goal: to enter the NYC scene.
He started playing at small venues in the city in September 1998 where he gradually built up a solid fan base and in just two years showcased in front of more than 2000 people at New Yorkâs legendary club âTunnelâ.
From 2002-2003, Trax was heard on âDownshift epiphanyâ, the web radio station that broadcasts worldwide, where he received top Internet ratings. He continues to spin in underground NYC venues and composes his own music production while residing in Astoria, NY.
