Biography

At 15 Pete Doyle was spinning an eclectic mix of funk, disco, and early house to a handful of mates in a bedroom loft, and starting his own pirate radio station; Gamma FM. His genuine love for all things funky has seen him slug his record boxes not only up and down the UK but all over the world, visiting over 30 different countries, appearing as resident at Mambo, San Antonio (“…the best bar in Ibiza” DJ Magazine), playing to over 50,000 at a rave on Miami Beach, producing and remixing countless hit records for some of the UK’s most respected dance music labels and even spinning at a lavish private party for fashion designer Dexter Wong.

Pete spins quality Tuff Funky Vocal Tribal-tinged House with a distinctly American flavor, and frequently plays it alongside the DJs he rates highly: Erick Morillo, Richard F, Steve Lawler, Sasha, Armand Van Helden, Sneak, Derrick Carter, Sandy Rivera, Roger Sanchez, DJ Pippi, Dimitri From Paris, and Bob Sinclar amongst so many others.

Building a reputation through his residency at his own night Happiness in the early 90s, he went on to play almost every major night in every major city in the UK; The Hacienda, Moneypenny’s, Ministry of Sound, London Calling, Milk ‘n’ 2 Sugars, City Loud, The Cross, Clockwork Orange, Hanover Grand, The End, Serious/Dusted at both The Cross and Pacha London, The Gallery, The Tunnel, Golden, Discotecca, Passion, Progress, Sugar Shack, Evissa, Lakota, Hidden, The Steering Wheel, Milk, Thompson’s Garage, The Met, The Network Club, Society, The Aquarium, The 051Club, Route, Tabu, The Summit, and The Zap, before heading overseas to Eire, Europe, North America, the Far East, and Australia, playing at venues like Manumission, Pacha, El Divino, Es Paradise, Privilege, The POD and Red Box, Backroom, 12SI, Liquid, Disco and Movement, Summon & Eden, Carpas Del Cel, Orange, Pravda, D! Club, Axis, Generator & Tremors, Liqwid, Zoë’s & BJ’s, Life, Nautilus Club, Castle Club, Mythology, Retro Club, Embassy, Centro 360, Kerma, Ministry Of Sound (Bangkok), Babylon, and Gecko; Pete has played to most of the world.

In the studio over a 6 years period, he has clocked up over a hundred remix and production credits working for labels like Positiva, Edel, AM:PM, Defected, Multiply, East West, NEO, V:C, Xtravaganza, Steve Lawler’s Harlem label, Milo Records, Serious Records, and Champion Records, as well as for his own Rock Solid Productions label, he has also spent time as an agent at Club On Magazine’s DJ agency, and an account manager for Pinnacle working on their compilation albums. This is a versatile DJ in every sense of the word, constantly adapting to musical changes and audiences; skills he’s enjoying honing at his current weekly residency at the south east’s Premier house night; Sounds Heavenly and Baluga.
