Oliver De Soto




This is the credo with which Oliver de Soto has been working as a DJ in Germany’s clubs for a number of years.

In 1994 the foundation was laid for a DJ career based on the typical Frankfurt style which had de Soto completely spellbound since the start of the 1990s. The musical style of the 29 year-old was considerably influenced by the years 1991 and 1992 and the unforgettable Sunday mornings experienced during this period at the Frankfurt “Dorian Gray”.

His gigs included appearances at “Wonderland Rave96” the “Trance-Mission-Tour97”, the “Cyberdive Rave” and Germany’s No. 1 club “Dorian Gray” in Frankfurt am Main as a resident.

Numerous gigs were also played in well-known and interesting clubs such as Tribehouse Neuss, Prodo X Darmstadt, Index Köln, Atomic Köln, Ratinger Hof Düsseldorf, Forum München, Katakomben Krefeld, Tor 3 Düsseldorf, Stahlwerk Düsseldorf, Con-Sum Düsseldorf, Empire Siegburg, OXA Karlsruhe, Planet Bochum, Kick Herford High Noon/Bremen, Königsburg Krefeld etc.

De Soto also plays gigs in the renowned clubs “Matrix” (formerly Prodo X) in Darmstadt and the “Dorian Gray” in Frankfurt am Main as resident.

At the proven “Flashback” parties in Germany he ranks among the permanent residents in addition to the major DJs.

The “Flashback” & “Unity” events have been held each summer for five years in the SPACE CLUB on IBIZA, probably Europe’s most well-known and legendary club.

De Soto also made several guest appearances next year at the Space-Club – from June to September. The Promo Tours 1998/1999/2000 in the USA was a complete success thanks to the performances in Chicago (“Judgement Night” 6.6.98) and Harrisburg (“Romper Room” II 12.6.98). This was followed by additional performances (13/14/15.11.98) in Philadelphia and Harrisburg. Because of the great demand, there was gigs in the USA between 4.11.99 and 10.11.99 – the highlight of which was in Seattle on 6.11.99 and his gigs in New York 2000.

The first Trance-Maxi “Fellow Americans” (Fog Area Rec./Trance Chip) was released in October 1998.

This was followed by “DE SOTO” – Rain Man – (Various Rec.) The remixes of “Rain Man” were supplemented by C+M “Dream Universe” Marc o Tool and Lost’n alive.

“Rain Man” has just been licensed by Intercord.

Oliver de Soto “Confusion” on Fog Area/Trance Chip. was released in September 1999.

A further project entitled S.O.T.O. “Unicorn” has already been released on Planet Wax Rec. in July 2000. It was licensed to Great Britain.

The new single will be released in February 2002 at KOSMO Records. It´s a project with DJ Niels van Gogh (Pulverturm) and the title called “morning light”

Oliver Klein has already produced a remix of this 12”.
