Netto Losso

Curitiba, Brazil

DJ Netto has begun his journey through music in Florianopolis at 1991 at a night club called Octopus Cave.

The city was then on a surf fever which made it harder to consolidate a party full of house/Italo since most of radios, shows and other kinds of music diffusion just supported surf rock or reggae.

He became the residence at Octopus Cave in 1992, when he was 18 years old (even it may sound kind of weird, its worthy to say day Octopus Cave was the first night club in Florianopolis that owned a pair of sl1200 mk2 record player on its lift). Netto kept playing there as a resident DJ until April of 1994. On this very period, he had some notoriety in radio programs such as Alta Frequencia (from the extinguished local Antena 1 Radio). The program was on air at Saturdays, and was able do stimulate the local public enjoyment of house and dance music.

On April 1994 he leaves the residence at Octopus and changes radically his profile on the public he wanted to reach.

With tribal and garage associated to progressive house he performs sets fulfilled of swing and became the resident of the first night club to gays, lesbians and people who have empathy to gay places (until then this kind of night club was used to be really hidden from the public and a had a sort of ghetto spirit), whose name as Chandon; This club had the proposal of mixing the people who likes parties, no matter what was the way of dressing, flirting and all, all that mattered was the similarity on musical taste. There, Netto kept on as a resident DJ for six more months and, after that, performing sets on Saturday nights until the end of 1995.

From 1991 to 1995 Netto had already played in line ups with Felipe Venancio, Renato Lopez, Mozart & Double S, and Mauro Borges; This fact has served as an impulse for him to abandon the residence .

In 1996 he move to Argentina, there, he spent four weeks delivering ice bars on Argentinean Winter. Some of the places where the deliveries took place were renowned night clubs, and then he got the chance to get into this market, still unknown to most Brazilian DJs.

Since then, Netto has performined in many cities on South America, such as: Montevideu, Punta del Leste, Mar del Plata, La Plata, Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Santiago, Isla Margarita, as well as Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, among others.

On 2000 / 2001 and 2003 has produced with his friend, DJ Gothic (Electro-House) an electronic carnival proposal (at Havana Club in 2000/2001 and a Carnaval da Dona Tita at Budha Cafe in 2003). This project will return on 2006.

In 2005 returns Santa Catarina after two years living in other places and inserts a new batteries on his career, now on his early 30 ´s and not dismissing the old and good vinyl (he considers himself a lover of the unique frying eggs noise made by the vinyl when the needle scratches the dust accumulated on it.
