Javier Misa aka DJ Misa
Born April 10th, 1979 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
One of biggest DJ names in Uruguay and a definite land-mark for the local Electronic Music Scene. Having performed side by side with top world class Dj’s, such as John Digweed (Uk), Lexicon Avenue (Uk), Jason Jollins (USA), Matt Rowan & Jaytech (Aus), Add2Basket (Hung); Marcelo Castelli (Uy), Gustavo Bravetti (Uy), Carlos Daz (Uy), Bruno Gervais (Fra), Carla Tintor (Arg), Ricky Ryan (Arg), among others.
Last year’s Misa’s Tours through Argentina and Brazil proved once again his ability to perform and adapt to foreign music scenes just as good as he does locally.
His main music influences include: New Order, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, U2, Madonna, etc.
DJ Misa is well known for his wide versatility and ability to adapt to different dance venues and atmospheres. His style and excellent mixing techniques keep the crowds rocking for hours with fresh, innovative sets.
Throughout his career he’s had many residencies, such as El CIELO (Montevideo) 1997 ’ 1998, EL INFIERNO (Montevideo) 1998 ’ 1999, EL ANSIA (Montevideo) 1999 – 2001, MILENIO (Montevideo) 2003 – 2004, KAL BAR (Montevideo) verano 2004, KAL LOUNGE (Pta. del Este) verano 2005, TORREN CLUB (Pta. del Este) Summer 2006, KAL DANCE (Montevideo) 2004 ‘Currently (After Hours), After Oficce ’Martini Sunset 2006’ en RUMI (Montevideo), GLAM (Montevideo) 2006, LOOP CLUB (Montevideo) 2007 where he’s resident DJ every Saturday night.
Javier Misa has also been spinning music at the most well renowned Fashion Shows in Uruguay, including: Hacienda Las Palomas, Hotel Sheraton, Hotel Palladium, etc.
