In early years Mirko started producing underground techno-stuff together with Max Reich. He even released own single productions under the name DJ UPTIDE. In 1994 the story continues by founding his own record-label/company named UPTIDE RECORDS. Many famous Techno-Producer from all over the world released their works there, for example “Stereo & R2” (Stereo Jack) and “Dr. Snuggels” (Joel Mull).
Together with his friend DJ Arne L.II, who had already produced early releases on Uptide Rec., Mirko founded the sub-label DEEP MISSION in 1996. Deep Mission was the new platform for the creative work of many international producers and djs like Thomas Krome, Samuel Onervas (Sammy Vegas), Raul De Chile, Marc Scoozy and many more, but mainly for Mirko and Arne himself, who did regular releases under the name DJ Arne L.II vs. Mirko Milano.
The Style of Mirko`s productions turned from underground-techno to a mixture between progressive trance and hardhouse, a style which cant be explained easily. His worldwide importance enhanced fast. In 1999 Mirko and Arne released theEURO EP. on Deep Mission Records; afterwards it seems to be the beginning of their international recess. The following singles Astral Shock, Cubusand Borg Baby boosted the hype up.
In 2001 Mirko`s success seemed to become it`s maximum peak level. He released his first solo-single Stopp & Go, which became a international hit. It was released in nearly every techno-listening country in the world. It has been signed by WEA Rec., who released the single on Maxi CD in Germany and France. Even international Artists, for example Thomas P. Heckmann and DJ Mekong (Japan) gave this tune their special touch by making stunning remixes. The single entered the Media Controll Charts and reached maximum positions in every important dance charts-list.
This success has been enlarged by the follow-up productions DJ Arne L.II & Mirko Milano present Picard (signed by Tempo Music-Hitland Italy), Bang The Box (Maxi-CD Release in France by EMI) and Bamm Bamm (underground). Between these releases he did several remixes for artists like “EDLIM” (Wea), “THE MOON” (Byte), “EMBARGO” (Drop Out), “ESSENTIAL DJ TEAM” (Unsubmissive) and “COMMANDER TOM” (Pulsive).
In 2001 Mirko met DJ Slideout, an upcoming producer from northern Germany. In Cooperation, they founded their Cooperation Project LaCargo. The first Releases on Deep Mission (Cargo 2002, Rebase 2003, Universal Drums+Balistic 2004) and many remixes for artists like LADY TOM, J.Ru (Stik Italy) and Vicious (Clubland / Wea) is the product of their creative work.
