DJ/ Producer/ Remixer
In an industry inundated with people of questionable talent, it’s refreshing to know that there is someone out there with the ability and presence it takes to make a mark; that man is none other than Mike Ivy. Whether he’s spinning for crowds around the world or churning out dance music hits through his other monikers (Ivy & Rose, MaD House Muzik Productions, FM and SL5) this man is destined for great things and the public has taken notice.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mike Ivy developed a passion for music at an early age, which was cultivated by mix shows he would catch on the radio. His passion would soon turn into pure obsession as he began to perfect what would be known as his sound: an eclectic mix of tribal beats, equal parts funky, progressive, hard and sexy. His objective was to take the listener on a ride; a musical journey fusing each element of his sound into one spellbinding rhythm, resulting in crowded dance floors and sweat soaked club goers.
It worked! DJ Mike Ivy has spun for crowds at some of New York City?s most memorable night spots including Club Exit, Club NV, CPI, Life and the NYC nightlife staple, Limelight. The buzz that soon followed awarded him with gigs at some of the most popular clubs around like NYC?s Crobar NY, Pacha NY, Krash @Club Deep, Marquee, Plumm, Sol, Lotus, Spirit, Cellar Bar, LeSouk, where he enjoys monthly residencies. He also enjoys gigs at the wildly successful party, Asseteria at Show, which was incidentally voted NYC?s best party for three consecutive years. He has also spun his magic at Tavern in the Hamptons, New Jersey?s Coliseum and Florida?s Sephora, Twist, and Heaven. To boot, Ivy?s resume also boasts parties in Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Baltimore. The demand for his DJing skills also reached our neighbors up north where Ivy played to capacity crowds in Toronto, Canada. Mike further expanded his fan base when he took his brand of music globally, touching down in Mykonos, Portugal, London, Jamaica, Cancun, Mexico and Brazil.
His booming DJing career aside, Mike Ivy forged quite a name for himself working with some of the most innovative minds in the dance world today. He has remixed or produced some of the hottest dance tracks on the market like his ultra popular production ?Mirror, Mirror?, which he released under the moniker MagicDog, his remix of ?Body & Face? and the dance floor anthem ?Up in the Air?. More recently, Mike Ivy has been busy working on tracks for house music superstars, Joi Cardwell and Georgie Porgie (?It?s Over), recording smash artist Lucas Prata (?And she Said??), Martina (?La Musica?), international dancing music sensation, Dona International (?Im Nin’alu?) and house music veteran Johnny Vicious.
DJs from around the world are devout supporters of his remix and production work, playing his records at gigs as well as charting his hits on music charts from around the world. In addition, music execs are clamoring to get their hands on his work for exclusive releases. Such was the case when Mike Cruz tapped Ivy to allow him to license his track ?La Musica? for his compilation CD. His music is being signed by labels from around the world like Lickin? Tribe Records (Germany), Sound Grooves (US), Live/Music Plant (US), Darker Audio (Egypt), Rok-It Recordings (US), and Loop 128 Records (Portugal), just to name a few.
Presently, Mike Ivy finds himself dividing his time between the rigors of life on the road and working in the studio. He has been heard playing live to house music fanatics on radio stations like WNYU 89.1 with their Friday Night Express Mix Show and 105.3?s own House Nation Mix Show. To boot, he?s also played guest spots on the live internet radio show NewYorkCityUnderground where he was heard playing for thousands of rabid fans. Additionally, on top of his already established monthly residencies, Ivy nabbed one of the most sought after gigs for a DJ: a live show on Sirius Satellite Radio. With both confirmed and pending DJ gigs on the horizon and a slew of records ready to drop, it?s not a wonder why his is the name on everyone?s lips.
The fact is: whether Mike Ivy is manning the turntables spinning for crowds around the world or releasing some of the most ingenious dance music tracks under one of his pseudonyms (Ivy & Rose, MaD House Muzik Productions or SL5) there?s one thing you can count on: No matter what he does the outcome will always be astounding! The buzz surrounding DJ Mike Ivy has reached a fever pitch. He?s doing what he loves and enjoying every minute of it.
