His professional career as a house DJ kicked of 12 years ago and with his first recording release ‘Break’ he entered the Top 10 of the US Billboard Dance Charts. Since then, he developed his funky techno sound to what it is today. He succeeded to get a solid reputation as a DJ outside of Holland playing all over the world. Two years in a row, Michel De Hey won the Dance Award for Best Techno DJ of the Netherlands. His club night ‘Future ’ in Nighttown Rotterdam, which was established in August 1995, developed into a respected club night functioning as a musical indicator for the Dutch club scene. Since the foundation, Michel invited many national and international artists introducing the crowd to quality house resulting in four award nominations over the past years. Michel must be seen as one of the people who took responsibility for dance music and its direction in Rotterdam. With his talent both as a producer and as a DJ, Michel opened the door to techno and techhouse for a lot of people.
